Bhubaneswar: The state is experiencing a severe winter. With the onset of winter, strong winds are expected to intensify. Nine cities in the state recorded temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.

Daringwadi’s minimum night temperature dropped to 10 degrees Celsius. Sonepur recorded a low of 12.6 degrees Celsius, Phulbani and Anugul 14.0 degrees Celsius, Balangir 14.5 degrees Celsius, Talcher 14.3 degrees Celsius, Jharsuguda 14.4 degrees Celsius, and Baripada 14.5 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, the weather is cloudy in the state due to the storm ‘Nivarh’. Rainfall has also been recorded in some parts of South Odisha. As a result, the minimum temperature in some parts of the state has risen slightly. Due to the possibility of rain in the border areas of South Odisha tomorrow, the night temperature in some places is likely to drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.
According to the regional meteorological center, winter will resume in the state from the 28th. The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued. It will gradually weaken as it moves northwest and will receive precipitation in the next 12 hours.
According to forecasts, the direct impact of ‘Nivar’ has not been felt on Odisha. However, the districts of South Odisha received light to moderate rainfall, while the weather was cloudy everywhere. Heavy to moderate rainfall is expected in some parts of the southern districts of Odisha tomorrow. The state will have cloudy weather. As a result, night temperatures are likely to rise by 1 to 2 degrees in the next 24 hours, the center said.
