105th birth anniversary of Biju Babu
Bhubaneswar : Today marks the 105th birth anniversary of the proverbial man Biju Patnaik. The state government is celebrating Biju Jayanti as Panchayati Raj Day. Various events are being organized on the occasion of Biju Jayanti. The cycle rally will reach Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik Airport from Cuttack Anand Bhavan.
A cycle rally with a wreath at the statue of Biju Patnaik took place in Cuttack Jobra. The cycle rally will end with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Biju babu statue at Bhubaneswar airport. The Biju Yuba Janata Dal and the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal have organized a cycle procession to commemorate Biju babu’s 4,500-mile adventure from Cuttack to Peshawar. Also, Biju Jayanti will be celebrated at every constituency level, BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik will lay a wreath at the statue of Bijubabu in Forest Park at 10.45 are today. Later, the BJP will address a gathering of party workers and workers in a virtual program at the state office.
Extensive programs have been taken up by the BJD and the state government on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Diwas. BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik has called on every member of the party to re-dedicate himself to the service of the people of the state and adhere to party unity and discipline. All schools and colleges in the state will be closed today for Panchayati Raj Day. Also, all universities in the state and all degree colleges under higher education will also be closed।
