There is a shortage of potatoes in the market again in Odisha. Can’t come to Cuttack’s Chatrabazar today to sell potatoes. Fears have been expressed about the increase in potato prices. Potato prices in Cuttack have reached Rs 50 per kg. Earlier potato was sold at Rs 40, but today it has reached Rs 50. About which the customer is now worried.

On the other hand, the Bhubaneswar Aignia potato warehouse is also empty. It was reported that there was no potato in the Aignia warehouse this morning. So potato prices are expected to go up again. However, after the news that the potatoes had not arrived, the traders started selling whatever potatoes they had available at exorbitant prices. The campers are suffering. Yesterday, some customers bought potatoes for 35 to 40 rupees, but today they are forced to buy them for Rs. 50 to 60. If the administration does not look into this immediately, the situation is likely to deteriorate.

Potatoes coming from UP:

There is a shortage of potatoes in the state as potatoes have not been harvested for the past 2 days. Some traders who have potatoes are selling them at exorbitant prices. Due to the non-acceptance of potatoes coming from Uttar Pradesh in the state, traders are suffering losses.

We have another 17 tons of potatoes in various cold storage, which can meet the requirement of potatoes for 3 days. Sudhakar Panda, General Secretary of the State Traders Association, said that the people of the state will not get to see potatoes unless the government makes alternative arrangements.

Potatoes will come from Punjab. Yesterday, the supply minister informed us that potatoes will be procured from Punjab if needed to solve the potato crisis. Minister Krishna Pan said that what is being said about potatoes coming from Uttar Pradesh ripening quickly is a lie. The quality of UP potatoes sold in Odisha is very good. If necessary, potatoes will be procured from Punjab. On the contrary, West Bengal did not become a victim of blackmail, we saw Swaviman, said the minister.
