CM Naveen Patnaik warns action against delayed payment of wages to the poor people
Bhubaneswar : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed that no family be affected by the lack of employment. He warned of “severe consequences” for delaying the payment of wages to poor people. The Chief Minister today reviewed the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and Urban Wage Employment Scheme in all districts through video conferencing.
The two programs aim to create 20 crore human days by the end of the current financial year. The Chief Minister congratulated the district magistrates the Jajpur, Koraput and Sonpur districts for their excellent work in achieving the MGNREGA goals. In each of these districts, the chief minister said more than 100 days per family and additional wages would be paid.
Similarly, the Chief Minister has directed to complete the construction of 1,000 Mission Shakti houses by March and one Lekhaye identity house by the end of January. Participating in the discussion, 5th Secretary V.K. Pandian said Mission Shakti’s mothers were actively involved in the oversight work and advised the district commissioners to pay their dues immediately।
