Mumbai: NCB today arrested two people including Bollywood makeup artist and hair stylist Suraj Godambe in Mumbai and recovered cocaine from them. An official said that the Mumbai Zonal Unit of NCB, which is investigating the cases related to the use of drugs in Bollywood, raided Meera Tower in Oshiwara area of Andheri on Wednesday।
NCB officials said Suraj Godambe and Lalchandra Yadav, an autorickshaw driver, were arrested on Thursday. The NCB team seized 16 packets of drugs, weighing 17.6 grams, containing 11 grams of cocaine from them।
The official said that Godambe is a makeup artist and hair stylist and has worked with some production houses. He told that Godambe used to get narcotics while Yadav used to supply it।
After interrogation, the two were arrested on Thursday, the officials said. Both were produced in a court in Mumbai from where they were sent to NCB custody till 16 December. The NCB on Tuesday arrested two people, including drug trader Regal Mahakal, after raiding several places in Mumbai।
This action is being taken as part of the investigation into the narcotics case involving the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The officer said that the NCB has seized charas worth Rs 2.5 crore and cash of Rs 13.51 lakh during the raid।
